Budgeting Essentials
Debt is Bondage in 2024: 3 Tips to Help You Today!
Welcome to our blog!
The Team at Dan the Budget Man
Will help you by:
Using ENCOURAGEMENT
(1st and foremost)
to help you get the mindset
to eliminate your debt.
We’re on your side
= which means no blame, shame, or guilt!
We will not beat you over the head or belittle you.
Notice:
If you work in accounting,
or you have a small business
and want to keep track of your money,
there is an
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW
about on-Demand classes
you can take at your leisure.
So then, what do we do?

We Give You Ideas
We Provide Considerations
You May Not Have Thought of Before
We inspire you to use
your intelligence
and imagination
to come up with
ways to reduce debt.
We realize
there are a lot of
“systems” out there,
and sure, different things
work for various situations,
but
none of these will work
if you do not have
an intense desire
to do what needs to be done.
Intense desire here means that you are willing to:
Invest time and effort to work the plan.

Create a good plan with doable goals.
A Plan you are willing to work at.
The litmus test

of working toward
a good goal
is when you are willing to

overcome the obstacles

that get in the way of reaching your goal.
Reducing your debt is a big deal:
What are some OTHER obstacles?
Procrastination
putting off working-the-plan until tomorrow.
Screen time

Zoning out;
filling your eyes and ears with daydreams
of wanting things…
you cannot currently afford.
Activities related to unnecessary purchases

Comparing yourself to others and what they have

Excessive impulse spending (commercials, TV and Internet ads) SHOPPING, Installment payments (that add more debt)
How about some Tips?
Tip #1

Your Mindset Steps:
If you are willing
to change
SOME OLD SPENDING habits,
you are well on your way
to overcoming the obstacles
that prevent people from paying down debt.
Debt Reduction as a Time Investment
Spend time learning about debt reduction.
Sign up for my bi- weekly blog and
spend a few minutes receiving encouragement and inspiration.

Involving the whole family
will get them to buy into your plan!
(Classes>Free>Debt Relief Workshop)
Plan your strategy.
Evaluate where you are financially,
and decide where you want to be (debt free)
and how you will
manage future spending patterns.
Tip #2

Mind-setting Steps:
Akin to setting your sail to determine your destination.
Debt is a fact, but as you know,
facts can change (if you want them to).
Will you set your sail to get out of debt?
(You don’t have to –
but what’s the alternative?
Broke life, broke kids,
always dreaming
and never having
what you want…not good!)
No one else can determine this for you – it is your choice.
Debt Reduction Takes Effort
(and time on your part).
Do this:
List every debt in a digital spreadsheet or paper list.

List your income.

Get to know the details of your situation
that are discussed in my free workshop.

Get real about your spending habits
(and ask family members to do the same.)
Address your weaknesses
when it comes to impulse buying.
Ask your family for help and ideas.
Try this:
If you still find yourself in a pinch to pay back certain obligations,
rather than giving up (or worse, not paying the bill),

call and ask to speak
to the supervisor or manager
in charge of your account
and calmly explain your situation
and offer to pay what you can.
You may find yourself pleasantly surprised.

If not, call the next one and expect a good response.
Control your temper.
Don’t be arrogant.
Use your gentle voice.
Remember that these people deal with deadbeats and scammers all the time.
Be sincere and be thankful for any help that is offered.
A rich man we follow says,
“Effort is the seed
that has the power of the future.”
Tip #3

Mind-getter Steps (aka: Motivation)
When your efforts are sincere,
you are well on your way to reaching your goals.
You could try
treating your life as a business
that you own and operate
and come up with some
simple-to-follow-steps:
Money must come in
Work a job you like.
Or,
Take a 2nd job until you get your bills caught up.
Get a Better Job!
Take advantage of the Labor Shortage…
Better pay and the right atmosphere!
Beef up your Skillset
Keep the job you have
and learn new skills online.
Watch for:
Controller-created on-demand classes
coming soon!
Voice Your Desire

Network with friends
employed with “good” companies.
Good companies like having
“inside” references
on potential employees.
Cannot spend more money than you have
Think
Devise a plan for what you need vs what you want.
Train Yourself
Stop installment-plan spending.
Be Content
Make do with what you have until more money comes in.
Tuck Money Away Each Month
Save for those “extras” you want (put away minimum of $5 week/month).
Go Online for Recipes
Make food and beverages at home until further notice.
Frugal
Buy fewer clothing items that will
mix/match with what you have in your closet
Limit Yourself
Do not buy it (anything)
if you cannot afford it –
(especially if you will not die without it).
